| | Tyler Baruch 50# Wahoo | | on sunday september 2,07 my dad and I decided to go bottom fishing out of jupiter inlet it was a calm day out but we werent catching anything so we were going to troll for a little and then head in to a shallower reef. I was trolling a williamson ribbonfish lure and a dolphin delight in 200 feet of water when something big hit the ribbonfish. by the time my dad had stoped the boat I was almost out of line! about 300 yards back something huge was splashing around we were sure it was a sailfish so while whe were chasing it down my dad grabbed the camera instead of the gaff. when I gained most of my line back we stoped again. I told my dad it might not be a sail fish it could be a big king fish or wahoo because it wasnt jumping. So i set the gaff out just in case. we chased it down one more time. when i got it up to the boat we could see it was a huge wahoo it was so tired it wasnt even moving when my dad gaffed it the gaff started to break! so he grabed down low and yanked it in. It was a heck of a fight and one I wont ever forget. the wahoo weighed 50 pounds and was 63 inches long.
