A few words about lenses... All our sunglasses are fitted with lenses that provide protection against harmful UV rays. In addition, they are ALL polarized. Here is the reason why: Studies have shown that simply darkening lenses is not enough... In many situations, the lenses would have to be extremely dark to make us comfortable. Sunglasses this dark would obstruct our vision, possibly placing us in danger. Why? Because of a phenomenon called "Glare". Glare occurs when the rays of light are scattered in different directions. They can bounce off the surface of water, snow, and shiny objects, or can even be reflected and refracted by particles in the air itself. In fact, glare can be 7 to 8 times brighter than ambient light and accounts for as much as 65% of light seen. Polarized lenses reduce glare, but not brightness, allowing better transition of light for better visual acuity. Once you discover the benefits of polarization, you will never want to go back to non-polarized sunglasses. The sky looks bluer, the water more transparent, and the road is more comfortably seen while driving.
